The meeting focused on a simulation of the Israeli Palestinian Confederation, a proposed federal government designed to foster peace, tolerance, and economic prosperity between Israelis and Palestinians. Participants discussed the confederation’s structure, including the election of a president and vice president, the creation of a 300-member Parliament, and the ratification of a constitution that guarantees equal rights and separates powers. The simulation assumed a successful election with substantial voter turnout, and participants were tasked with drafting legislation to address issues in their districts. Noga expressed concerns about the potential misuse of the confederation to further Israeli supremacy, and questions were raised about the effectiveness of the veto power held by Israel. The simulation aimed to demonstrate how the confederation could function and address these concerns.
