The billboard that says “A Jewish State is bad for Jews” will not be displayed due to the ongoing violence. I have discussed the purpose of the billboard, which may be displayed somewhere else in the future. Israel is currently investigating the failure that allowed Hamas to launch a significant and ongoing attack from the Gaza Strip. This attack took place on the 50th Anniversary of the Yom Kippur War. The Israeli investigation is solely focused on technical issues that led to the failure. However, Israel is not investigating its failure to achieve peace or its unsuccessful approach to establishing a secure state for the Jewish people for over 75 years. Like its investigation after the 1973 war, Israel focused only on technical issues and avoided addressing the main issues: the failure to make peace and provide security for the Jewish people.
The same type of investigation is now being repeated. The billboard is calling for a truthful assessment of Israel’s failure to protect its people. Ignoring the real issues poses a danger to both the Jewish and Palestinian people in the region.
