Gadi Baltiansky served as Prime Minister Ehud Barak’s spokesperson. He is now the Israeli Director of the “Geneva Initiative” which supports a Two State Solution.
Mr. Baltiansky congratulated the IPC for its vision. He did not object to the IPC constitution. He believes that an agreement for Two States should take place before a Confederation is established to fulfill the aspiration of the Palestinian people for self-determination and Israelis to a have a Jewish State.
The IPC does not believe that a common confederation and the two-state solution are mutually exclusive. As a way of illustration, it is possible (recommended) to eat well and exercise before and after surgery. The IPC is the “eat well and exercise “option to the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
In today’s simulation the IPC passed a constitution, obtain overwhelming pledge of allegiance from all Israeli and Palestinian Parliament members, passed legislation to teach tolerance and understanding and to create a joint police force. The Israeli Prime Minister vetoed the Police force legislation. Mr. Baltiansky however opined that in a real situation a common police force is realistic.
